Doctoral Forum
The Doctoral Forum is being developed as a dedicated international space for doctoral and early-career researchers whose work engages with research systems, research policy, scholarly communication, integrity, assessment, Open Science, artificial intelligence or institutional transformation.
The Doctoral Forum is not intended to reproduce a conventional conference track at smaller scale. Its purpose is to give emerging researchers a visible place to test arguments, receive substantive feedback and connect their research questions to the wider institutional and policy environment of the Forum.
What participation is expected to offer
Present work in progress
Share a research question, conceptual framework, method, early finding or analytical challenge before the work is fully closed.
Receive focused feedback
Discuss the work with researchers and practitioners who may approach the same system from different disciplinary or institutional positions.
Build research connections
Meet peers, potential collaborators, research-support professionals and institutions working on related research-system questions.
Anticipated formats
Final formats will be confirmed in the Call for Contributions. The current programme design anticipates a combination of concise research presentations, poster or lightning formats, facilitated discussion and mentoring or feedback moments. Selected doctoral contributions may also connect to plenary or Lab discussions where the topic is directly relevant.
What a future proposal should make clear
- The research-system problem or question being investigated.
- The disciplinary, institutional or policy context of the work.
- The current stage of the research and the type of feedback that would be most useful.
- The connection to one or more of the Forum's four scientific pillars.
- What the contribution can add to a cross-disciplinary and cross-sector discussion.
Eligibility and selection
Detailed eligibility, career-stage definitions, proposal length, selection criteria, mentoring arrangements and participation conditions are not yet final. They will be published together with the formal Call for Contributions. No application should be considered submitted until it has been received through the official submission route.
